Temptation...

I have a weakness, well, I have many. But this one is severe. As you know Girl Scout cookies come around once a year. Because it's only once a year, Larry and I like to stock up. We freeze them. Now, we don't have any girls, and we don't have any nieces in the Girl Scout program to support. We just really like cookies! This could be the reason I am still not back in that 00 I was before Ethan? Daaang!
We always call one another when the first order sheet appears at the office. This year, I placed two orders. Pathetic? Yes, we are addicted... I guess giving up one bad habit leads to another? Except, I have always been addicted to Girl Scout Cookies.

I know digital scrapbooking and normal scrapbooking are very popular. A friend of mine does this as her business - and if you are interested, you should check this out. I am not very good with digital scrapbooking, so this is good for me:

Just make sure you list my friend, Brenda Tobler as the referral!

Ryan Ly Tran

It is Ryan's birthday this month, and I wanted to post some very memorable photo's. Ryan came at such a time when we all needed him the most, he is truly a gift from God. It had always made me feel so good whenever he would tell me I was his favorite (even though I know he was telling all of his aunts the very same). Happy Birthday, nephew! I love you more than you will ever know.

I am totally addicted to this show. And, seriously, do you know how talented these two people are? And famous! I knew I should've stuck with dance... Dang!

Larry's Adventurous Daddy Weekend

This weekend, I had plans with friends - Friday night dinner with my very good friend, Carla. Saturday a baby shower in the city, and then a fun evening with my friend Debbie, whom I haven't been out with since I got pregnant. I was very excited because this was the first night that I could be out and not worry about getting up with Ethan. And since it was the city, I was staying over night with Deb.
Larry was left at home. With Ethan. By themselves. When I got home this afternoon, Larry was exasperated and said he needed a nap after chasing after Ethan all day - he is very busy, he says. As if I didn't already know? So, I asked, exactly what happened? Last night I left just an hour or so before he went to bed, so nothing there, Ethan slept 'til 8 am, but I guess it was mayhem after that. Larry left the lock on the kitchen sink door leaving all of the cleaning supplies exposed - Larry went upstairs to take a few things up and he came back down. Ethan had sprinkled Comet all over the kitchen floor and rug (our floors are hardwood) and had a sponge. He was cleaning. Larry scooped him up and put him in his crib while he cleaned the "mess" up. Ethan ran circles around Larry making him climb up and down the stairs "practicing" different ways of getting down.
I relish these stories and moments, because you all know how fast time flies. And my baby is no longer a baby. I am not ready yet!

This is funny, I don't know where it came from.

My friend, Lavinia posted it on her Facebook Fun Wall,

and I laughed out loud.

Correction -

Any of you who have read my profile probably think I'm a literary idiot. I had under Favorite Books: anything by Jane Eyre. What I meant was the book Jane Eyre - comma - and anything by Jane Austen. No worries, it has been corrected. I have got to stop creating things in the middle of the night.

Thank You, Thank You!

So, I have been cruising around on the blogs, and wondered how everyone got these cute templates and embelishments. I have no clue about the digital scrapbooking world or even where to begin, my Aunt Dawnette, however, is a wiz and does really awesome stuff! I keep visiting sites, and downloading stuff but could never figure out how to actually get it to my blog. Finally, a friend of mine (Caleen) told me about a site where she gets hers: http://matiekay.blogspot.com, and it linked me to: http://sjhblogdesign.blogspot.com where I got tons of help! I'm still working on it, but I'm getting closer. So, thanks, Caleen - a ton!

Hmmmmm....

So, most of you will remember just how addicted I was to Sex and the City. It's in syndication now on the CW, and on TBS. It's annoying because it's cut short to fit the time slot, and it's edited but I watch it anyway or I guess, it's on while I'm blogging, and Facebook-ing, and emailing. But now there's a movie. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

For the love of Pete, I have no idea why, but this video makes me laugh so hard. I keep watching it over and over again. I think, perhaps, it reminds me of my younger brothers, and of my friend, Erin's boys too.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBlgSz8sSM

Karma

When we were kids, my older sister Tami would yell so loud at me that the vein on her neck would pop out. Tasha and I would giggle because - well, we were antagonistic. Tami was always throwing here arms up at me and frustrated because I was always so emotional and she never really knew what to do about it. Well.... Allee, my niece, Tami's daughter - is me... or... my clone... or me, reincarnated. The point is - she IS me. This frightens Tami - a lot! She cries, she's very emotional, she tells things like it is but prefaces it with 'not to be rude, but...' - sound familiar? I know, right? Scary! She's about as vain as me. Loves clothes, loves shoes, and loves loves LOVES cooking! Which is awesome - she can sit and watch Food Network for hours and hours - LIKE ME! With all of the good, there's the other 'fun stuff' too.
And I love her SO much!

I see you in there!

We have two cats: 'Kita and Trini. Once Ethan started crawling Larry and I were faced with the prospect of Ethan getting into the litter box - and you can imagine what that means. We racked our brains to come up with some alternative. One day, Larry had an epiphany. We have a vent between the kitchen & the laundry room, but it's nothing - it's just an airspace with a vent cover. So, we took the vent off both sides, and Larry framed the opening. We put the litter boxes in there and the cats have been using it ever since. Whenever Larry or I disappear to either clean the litter boxes or do laundry, he knows to look there:

Trouble-maker

Ethan is changing his sleep schedule, which is making nap time impossible. We can tell when he's tired because he looks for his 'precious' and plays with his ears (wonder where he gets that from?). So, I hauled him off for a mid-morning nap. He doesn't cry, he'll just sit up there and talk to his 'guys' which are stuffed animals in his bed - the picture shows how his bed usually looks. Larry and I were enjoying our free time but we were listening over the monitor to some interesting conversations. As you know, you can't show your face, otherwise there's mayhem. We let him sort things out and he eventually fell asleep. However, when he finally woke up and I went to get him out - this is what I found, not one guy left in his crib... We figured he must've been throwing them over one by one (per the conversation we overheard earlier) telling them to "go get help".

My very dear and long-time friend, Sammy, is opening a new import/yoga/wellness store. I am so proud of him. He has been so successful in life and in the mortgage business. I first met Sam in Utah working at Western States Mortgage. We were both processor's, and Sam and I quickly became good friends. He now lives in LA and is more than just thriving as you can see:

Famous Family

This is very exciting for me - you may know how much I adore my older sister who happens to be my best friend. She has taken her family and made them famous - well famous enough anyway. After Ryan was born, and about 3 yrs old, Tami signed up with an agency and started getting a lot of modeling print work, and industry film work. This is very exciting. Well, they had a photo shoot that now shows up a lot of places: shutterfly.com, walmart.com, and many other places. Tami's in-laws have recently informed her, the family is on the Einstein Bros Bagels box... this is so thrilling!

Larry LOVES being a Dad

We have this side door and when we moved in there was this sheer rayon type material curtain. It is nasty, but I haven't decided on what to put up instead. Well, it has been 2 yrs and I still have not done a thing with it - good thing too, because, as it turns out - Ethan loves it:

Tonka Trucks

Ethan got a new truck from Grandma & Grandpa at Christmas - he loves it. It is obviously not for loading and hauling...
