Today was an exciting day. We met Ethan's friend from Gymboree, JD and his family (Tricia, Dan, and Addy Kane) at Adler Planetarium for the Walk Around with Elmo and One Sky, Big World show. We thought there would be a traffice problem since the Taste of Chicago started this weekend, so we left early for the 10:45 am show. And I am no in any of the pictures because Larry refuses to document that I am actually in this family and Ethan's mother. I am the one snapping the pics.

While the Cat's away...

So, I'm guessing Larry got out of work early because I received this picture via text this afternoon while at work...

Last weekend Nancy and John came up to visit. We had a great time. Ethan showed off at Gymboree, we walked around Cabella's for a few hours, and Grandma and Grandpa spoiled us. Of course, Ethan got something "Thomas". He has been playing with this ever since - every day, all day. We pack it up for the babysitter's and we bring it home... every DAY!!!!

Today, we enjoyed a nice family dinner at this great new restaurant in the area, Shinto Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar. We ALL love sushi. I could eat it every day. Luckily, Ethan has also developed a taste for it.

MMMMM... that sushi is good, Mom!

Happy Fadder's Day, Dad!

Ethan was excited to bring Daddy home something special... here's what he made in Nursery today:

Larry does a lot of training at his job as a participant/student and as an instructor and/or organizer. Although there are many officers out there that contribute a lot, this is our blog, so... it's all about Larry. In this instance, they were involved in 'Active Shooter Training' for several officers. I am so proud of the interview and of Larry. He did a great job. There was a lot of work and planning that went in to this sort of training.

Mobile Blogging

I don't know why I didn't do this before, but as you can see, I have totally been into mobile blogging! This is so convenient, except when I'm trying to grocery shop and Larry is annoyed that I am not paying attention... oops. Oh well, that's the price of progress, hun!

Baby shower

I just finished making the invitations for Andrea's Baby Shower. We'll be having it in July while we're all in Utah. Ethan of course, was helping by glueing the scraps of paper to other scraps of paper and bossing me around. Thankfully, Larry took Ethan with him on a 'ride'. I'm excited because I really haven't been very much of a participant in any of the other showers or pregnancies. And it probably is a lot, but I'm a big fan of different textures but also because AGAIN, with the freakin' envelopes. They are too big, so I had to mount the invites to additional card stock to fit the envelopes.

Crime scene?

Ethan pulled out the drawers and tried using them as stairs... "luckily, no one was hurt, Ma" Ethan said.

Happy Mother's Day

Ethan made this cute little hot pad for me in Nursery, today.
I picked him up and he threw the hot pad at me while saying 'it's special, Ma'.
Thank you, Ethan!

Nerdy?

So, in the year 2000, a friend on mine gave me these State Quarter Collector's books. I think they were a joke, but ever since the announcement of State Quarter's I have been collecting them. Over zealous? Perhaps. But, it has been fun nonetheless. I am, however, missing Arizona. Does anyone have Arizona? And how do we not get any Arizona in IL?

I bought these paints at the grocery store that are for cars and 'show your spirit' kind of thing. I thought Ethan would have a blast. They said washable - and what they mean is: from the window, but not your clothes. Larry installed this screen door on the side for us, and Ethan has a blast... here he is creating a castle, right Gamma?
